Pediatric Treatment Center (PTC) (AC-6)
The Pediatric Treatment Center (PTC), located on the 6th floor
of the Ambulatory Care Facility of Strong Memorial Hospital,
provides
outpatient care and treatment to children requiring a variety
of procedures. The PTC accommodates children with chronic
and
acute care needs, regardless of diagnosis, providing a comfortable
setting for patients requiring transfusions, infusions, monitoring
and observation. The Pediatric Treatment Center (PTC) is available
to all pediatric specialties, and specialty providers manage
the
care
of their
patients while
in the Pediatric Treatment Center.

We provide medical care for patients who require intravenous
therapy, injections, stimulation tests and procedures. This

Our Team
The Pediatric Treatment Center is staffed daily with
three Registered Nurses, two Clinical Technologists,
one Ambulatory Patient Representative
and one Child Life
Specialist.
Your child's specialty physician and Nurse Practitioner coordinates
your child's care while in the Pediatric Treatment Center and
are available during your procedure.
Our Facility
Our atmosphere is "child friendly." In the Pediatric
Activity room, you'll find:
There are 10 private infusion rooms. Each has a T.V. and DVD player for patient use.
The activity room is specifically for patients receiving treatment.
Children who are sick and possibly contagious are not allowed
in the activity room. All children utilizing this room must be
under direct parental supervision. Food is not allowed in the activity room due to the activities done there. Patients are asked to eat in their private room.
