Baby Love
Baby Love is a community-based outreach program
designed to engage
at-risk pregnant women in early and continuous prenatal care.
Services include:

Initial social work assessments to identify family strengths,
perceived problems, available resources and areas that require
specific project focus;

Regular home visitation by paraprofessional outreach staff
who focus on accessing resources, preparing mothers
for child birth and parenting,
enhancing daily life management
skills, educating mothers on how to live healthy lives, and
promoting parent/child attachment, child safety and
child development;

Development of individual
and family service plans during pregnancy and the
first six months of your baby's life;

Enrollment of the family, as needed, in health care, mental
health and/or substance abuse treatment services;

Transportation to medical and social service appointments;
-
Social work intervention in situations requiring professional
expertise (i.e. suicide threat, domestic violence and child
abuse);

Provision of parent education and support groups;
-
Referral and enrollment of family members in other community
programs as needed.
Baby Love is a collaboration between Golisano Children's Hospital
at Strong and the Rochester Early Enhancement Project and offers
a continuum of services for children from birth to age 9. The
program receives its financial support from the United Way. For
