HIV Clinical Education Initiative (CEI)
Supported by the NYS AIDS Institute the Clinical Educational Initiative provides diverse HIV Clinical education programs about the latest HIV treatment strategies to educate:
- Physicians
- Physician assistants
- Nurse practitioners
- Nurses
- Social workers
- Other health care professionals
Educational programs ranging from one to four hours are provided in the following formats:
- Lectures including:
- Expanded Syringe Access Demonstration Program (ESAP)
- HIV/AIDS Confidentiality Law
- HIV Prophylaxis following Occupational Exposure
- HIV Prophylaxis following Sexual Assault
- HIV Reporting & Partner Notification Law
- Newborn HIV Screening Program
- Case conferences/discussions
- Preceptorships
- Satellite video-conferences
- Additional educational opportunities include:
- Inmate Adherence Videotape Series
- Management of HIV/AIDS in the Correctional Setting
- A Live Satellite Video-conference Series
- Mini-Residencies
- Peer Based Trainings
- Distance Learning
- Yearly conference for primary care clinicians on HIV/AIDS issues.
- Other HIV trainings available through The Center for Health and Behavioral Training.
