Donald Grover, M.D.

Providing the community with continuous care many years, Dr. Grover is a leading specialist in the diagnosis and treatment of macular degeneration. A senior faculty member, he studies medical retina and ophthalmic lasers to provide his patients with the best possible care, helping them to live the lifestyle they choose.

Currently, Dr. Grover is seeing not only macular degeneration patients, but also patients suffering from retinopathy due to complication from diabetes.

Dr. Grover is a graduate of the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry, Class of 1966. He was a fellow in medical retinal diseases at the Wilmer Institute at Johns Hopkins University Medical Center and completed his residency in Rochester in 1973.

Dr. Grover has presented papers and lectured at many international meetings. He worked on the retinal transplantation project that led to several human retinal transplants.

Dr. Grover is a founding member of the Macula Society, an international research and clinical society that explores and reviews trends in the management of various retinal disorders. He currently directs the department’s residency training program and is an officer of the Rochester Ophthalmic Society.
