Kidney infections

A kidney infection develops when bacteria is present in the kidney, usually from an untreated or severe bladder or urinary tract infection. Symptoms include pain in the side, lower back or groin, frequent and/or painful urination, possibly blood in the urine. Kidney infections are typically treated with antibiotics.
