Urology Clinical Trials
Past Urology Trials in Bladder Conditions and Bladder Cancer
-
A study of an investigational drug, resiniferatoxin (RTX), for
the treatment of symptoms associated with an overactive bladder
in subjects with disease or injury of the nervous system.
-
The major purpose of this research study is to determine
the effectiveness of standard Bacillus Calmete-Guerin (BCG)
immune
therapy for bladder cancer can be improved by the addition
of another immune-stimulating drug interferon-alpha. BCG alone
has
been shown to be the most effective treatment for superficial
bladder cancer with roughly 2/3 to 3/4 of patients responding.
BCG is approved for use in aggressive forms of this disease.
-
A
study to evaluate the use of a tumor marker, NMP22, as
an aid in screening for bladder cancer in urine in subjects
with risk and symptoms but no previous history of urinary
tract
cancer.
A study to evaluate the use of a tumor marker, NMP22,
as an aid in monitoring bladder cancer in subjects with
urinary
tract cancer.
-
A study to evaluate a test aimed at early
detection of bladder cancer. Changes have been
detected in urine of patients diagnosed
with bladder cancer. This experimental test
looks for the presence of abnormal genes in cells
taken from urine.
-
A study to determine the ability
of a new laboratory test (P53 Mutation
Test) to predict the likelihood of bladder
cancer recurring or progressing based
on the
analysis of a single voided urine specimen.
In addition, it will compare
this test with other available tests
and procedures used to predict recurrence
and progression of bladder
cancer.
The p53 Mutation Test is a genetic test
that looks for changes in the P53 gene
in the urine
specimen.
-
A research study to determine
whether or not the UroVysion test
can be used for early detection
of bladder cancer
in
subjects who have not previously
been diagnosed with bladder cancer,
but who may be experiencing
symptoms associated with
bladder cancer. The UroVysion test
is investigational for early detection
of bladder cancer.
-
A research study
to determine the PathVysion
Bladder Test as an investigational
urine
test for bladder cancer.
It is hoped that your participation
in
this study will further
the knowledge and understanding
of whether or
not these tests
will help in bladder cancer
monitoring and management.
