Monroe Community Hospital (MCH), located approximately one and a half miles from the Medical Center, is a county-operated institution for the care of patients incapacitated by problems associated with aging and chronic illness. It consists of three licensed levels of inpatient care (hospital, skilled nursing and health related).
The PGY-4 urology residents provide inpatient consult coverage at MCH, run a weekly urologic clinic, and perform operative and diagnostic procedures for these patients at SMH. The MCH patients often have co-existing disabilities and medical problems that present many challenges in their urologic care.
